Patna, Oct 26:  As the row over political cartoons intensified in Bihar, JD(U) MLC Neeraj Kumar on Thursday claimed that the Jan Sangh (now RSS) leaders had projected Mahatma Gandhi as ‘Ravan’ back in 1945.

Referring to the magazine of Nathuram Godse named ‘Agrini’ wherein he was also an editor, Kumar uploaded an old animated picture on X, formerly Twitter, targetting Veer Sawarkar.

“In 1945, a magazine named Agrini was published in the country where Nathuram Godse was the editor. As per the magazine, Finance Nutrient (Vit Poshak) Veer Sawarkar who apologized to the British rulers has termed Mahatma Gandhi, Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, Subhash Chandra Bose, Rajgopalachari, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru as ‘Ravan’,” Kumar claimed.

“You have started this and we will take it to a logical conclusion. If you have the guts, deny it,” Kumar dared the RSS and BJP leaders.

Notably, the cartoon politics started on Vijayadashami with BJP state president Samrat Choudhary projecting Lalu Prasad, Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav as Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath respectively.

In retaliation, Neeraj Kumar dubbed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Samrat Choudhary as ‘Ravan’ in an animated cartoon.

BJP spokesperson Arvind Kumar Singh claimed that in the post uploaded by Neeraj Kumar, Nitish Kumar resembles a suicide bomber.
