Students benefit from BSF prog

SHILLONG, Oct 30: Essential items like stationery, water storage tanks, solar lamps and PVC pipes worth Rs 2.37 lakh were distributed among students of Mahadev, Kanai LP School and locals of nearby villages like Mahadev, Patlaban, Bongera, Kanai etc., as part of a Civic Action Programme of 1st Battalion BSF in the border area of South Garo Hills on Sunday.  The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner of South Garo Hills Shivansh Awasthi, who, along with BSF officials, interacted with the villagers and assured them that the force is committed to provide all the help to them and that such civic action programmes will continue in the future as per their requirements.
