Lajong, Neroca share spoils in Northeast derby

Shillong, Nov 9: Shillong Lajong FC and Neroca FC played out a thrilling 1-1 draw in the Northeast Derby on Thursday, at the SSA Stadium in Shillong.
Lajong took the lead in the 34th minute through a set-piece, with Brazilian defender Daniel Gonçalves heading home a corner. Neroca equalized in the 79th minute through Jamaican midfielder Fabian Reid, who capitalized on a lapse in concentration by the Lajong defense.
Both teams had their chances to win the game in the second half, but the match ended in a stalemate. Lajong now have two points from two consecutive draws, while Neroca earn their first point of the season.
