BBS College win NEHU Inter College Cricket tourney

Shillong, Nov 11: In the culminating clash of the tournament, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, faced off against BBS College this Saturday. Having won the toss, St. Anthony’s College chose to bowl first.
The BBS College, while batting initially, managed to amass a total of 164 runs on the scoreboard within 20 overs, losing 9 wickets in the process.
In pursuit of the 165-run target, St. Anthony’s College, Shillong, fell short, scoring 141 runs in 20 overs and losing 7 wickets. BBS College emerged victorious, securing the match by a margin of 23 runs and claiming the championship title.
The tournament’s conclusion featured a presentation ceremony graced by Prof. K. Debberma, the Dean of the School of Social Science at NEHU, who presided as the Chief Guest. He presented the awards to the deserving winners. N. Das, the Assistant Director (PE & Sports) at NEHU and Organizing Secretary, along with the Principal of BBS College, Shillong, were also in attendance.
Pawan Kumar of BBS College was honored as the Man-of-the-Match, while Rohit Yadav of St. Anthony’s College was recognized as the Man-of-the-Tournament during the ceremony.
As the curtain fell on the gripping tournament, the victory of BBS College in the final showdown marked the culmination of fierce competition and sportsmanship. The presentation ceremony, graced by esteemed guests including Prof. K. Debberma, resonated with celebration and pride. Pawan Kumar’s stellar performance earned him the title of Man-of-the-Match, while Rohit Yadav’s consistent brilliance throughout the tournament secured him the prestigious Man-of-the-Tournament accolade. The event not only showcased exemplary cricketing talent but also underscored the spirit of camaraderie and achievement that defines the essence of such sporting endeavors.
