Reds gear up for clash against Sreenidi Deccan FC in their second home game

Shillong, Nov14: Shillong Lajong FC is set to face Sreenidi Deccan FC of Hyderabad in their second home game at the SSA Stadium today at 2 pm.
Following a draw in their last match against Neroca FC, Lajong braces for a challenging encounter against Sreenidi Deccan FC, who currently stand at 3rd place on the table with 6 points from 3 matches.
Sreenidi Deccan FC has showcased their strength with two victories, defeating Neroca FC 4-0 in the opening match and securing a 4-1 win against Inter Kashi. However, their momentum was halted by Aizawl FC in their last game, resulting in their only loss.
In a pre-match press conference held on Monday, Sreenidi’s head coach, Carlos Vaz Pinto, expressed confidence in his team’s preparedness for the upcoming match.
Despite acknowledging the challenge of facing Lajong at their home ground, Pinto emphasized the thorough study of the opponent, especially after a disappointing loss in their previous home game.
On the other hand, Shillong Lajong aim for a turnaround.
Head coach Bobby Nongbet, in the pre-match press conference, stated that the team is focused on securing three points against Sreenidi FC.
Anticipating an improved performance from his players, Nongbet is optimistic about clinching their first home victory.
The clash between Shillong Lajong and Sreenidi Deccan FC marks a historic moment in I-League history, being the first encounter between the two teams.
