Ranveer Singh honoured at Red Sea Int’l Film Fest, thanks Johnny Depp

Actor Ranveer Singh received career honour for his contribution to cinema at the third edition of the Red Sea International Film Festival and thanked “master of transformation”, Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, in his acceptance speech.
The Indian actor was one of the three recipients of this year’s Honorary Yusr Awards at the Jeddah-based film gala, which opened on Thursday. Hollywood actor Diane Kruger and Saudi actor-writer Abdullah Al-Sadhan were the other two personalities to be honoured with the award.
I’m going off-script for a moment here. Wow, one of my screen idols is in the house. Ladies and gentlemen, Mr Johnny Depp. My good sir, I have followed your work since ‘Edward Scissorhands’ and ‘What’s Eating Gilbert Grape’.

Ranveer Singh, who was honoured with the prestigious Yusr Award at the Red Sea International Festival, also received words of high praise from Hollywood star Sharon Stone.
“I had the exciting pleasure of meeting Ranveer before we came in here, and what a great guy,” said Stone.
The Red Sea Yusr Award last year was presented to Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, a symbol of recognition for boldness and innovation in film.
Stone added: “Ranveer Singh is a world renowned Bollywood star and a style icon. He is the recipient of several awards including 5 Filmfare Awards. Since his breakthrough, as you have seen, he is a master of transformation immersing himself in a myriad of characters that have showcased his exceptional range as an actor.”
“After his role in Gully Boy, he launched his own records demonstrating that he is truly an all-round creative genius. It gives me genuine pleasure to welcome him to the stage to receive yet another prestigious award.”
“What an honour to be receiving this award in your presence. Thank you for everything you have unknowingly taught me about the craft, sir. Master of Transformation, versatility, is something that I am inspired by you,” the “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani” star said.
