Minor dies in bike crash

MAWKYRWAT, Dec 4: A 17-year-old boy lost his life after the bike (AS 01 MB 5259) he was on, dashed against a vehicle (ML 12 1474) at Mawlangwir, which is a kilometer from Mawkyrwat, South West Khasi Hills.
Police said that the incident occurred on Sunday evening near Saitsnad playground, Mawlangwir. The minor, identified as Nangpyndapbor Kharlyngdoh of Nonglang village, who was proceeding from Mawkyrwat to Nonglang village, hit the vehicle driven by one Dirling Kharlyngdoh of Nonglang village while it was reversing.
The rider succumbed to his injuries, while the pillion rider, identified as Badatipskhem Snaitang (17), sustained injuries and was immediately shifted to Mawkyrwat Civil Hospital for treatment.
