Women organisation can play key role in war against drug: Paul

Shillong, Dec 12: Social Welfare Minister, Paul Lyngdoh on Tuesday advocated that the seng kynthei (women organization) has an important role in the war against drugs.

While speaking at the closing function of the silver jubilee celebration of the Seng Kynthei of Jaiaw Langsning Dorbar here on Tuesday, Lyngdoh said that the Seng Kynthei could be an integral part in the awareness against drugs and de-addiction programme.
According to him, the problem of drugs is no longer restricted to any particular area or localities since it has spread even to the villages.

He said that it was really unfortunate that many of the youth were into drugs addiction.
It may be mentioned that the year-long silver jubilee celebration was formally inaugurated on December 12 last year.
Others present on the occasion include NPP Mawkynrew MLA, Banteidor Lyngdoh among many others.
