Nongstion, Dec 15: The Delimitation Committee of the Khasi Hills Autonomous District Council (KHADC) held a public hearing today at the District Council office in Nongstion to listen to concerns from villages whose constituencies are currently divided between different districts and Community and Rural Development Blocks.

Representatives from several villages in the district attended the hearing and some of the villagers who are affected by delimitation highlighted the inconveniences faced due to the division.

Dr. S. Kharsyiemlieh, a retired judge of the district council court and chairman of the Delimitation Committee, said that the villagers concerns were being heard, the committee had patiently listen to each and every villagers testimony.

“We will submit our report to the KHADC as soon as possible, outlining our recommendations for a fair and effective delimitation,” Dr. Kharsyiemlieh said.
