Sri Lanka delegation to meet Assam Speaker, MLAs

Guwahati, Dec 18: A 17-member parliamentary delegation from Sri Lanka will pay a two-day visit to Guwahati from Tuesday as part of a five-day tour of India under a bilateral exchange programme.

The delegation, led by Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena, Speaker of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, will visit the Assam Legislative Assembly during their stay here and have an interaction session with the Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly and MLAs.

The team will also visit the Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary in Morigaon, an official statement issued on Monday said.

Notably, the Lankan delegation’s visit to the country under the bilateral exchange programme was undertaken from December 16, 2023.
