Govt staff to get paid before Xmas

SHILLONG, Dec 18: Government employees will receive their salaries as well as pensions due for the month of December ahead of Christmas, in a gesture that will genuinely be appreciated.
According to a statement, as a special case in relaxation of Rule 141 of the Meghalaya Financial Rules, 1981, for the drawal of pay and allowances to all gazetted and non-gazetted employees of Meghalaya government including pensioners, the government said that the amounts will be payable on December 21 on account of ensuing Christmas.
