KHADC reconstitutes traditional medicine panel

SHILLONG, Dec 20: The Khasi Traditional Medicine Commission was reconstituted by the KHADC on the Council’s the first day of the Winter Session here on Wednesday.
The 12-member commission reconstituted as per the KHAD (Protection and Promotion of Khasi Traditional Medicine) Act, 2011, will be headed by the CEM as the Chairman, and the joint secretary to the Council’s Executive Committee, A Nonghuloo, as Secretary.
The members of the commission include four eminent Khasi Traditional Practitioners — Dr DL Nongspung, Dr Alka Kharsati, Dr Boss Myrthong and Dr Dlas Rani — two eminent practitioners of other system of medicine — Dr JP Lyngdoh and Dr Sparstarlin Nongrem — and four eminent members of the civil society – Dr PS Nianglang, Dr Fabian Lyngdoh, Kitboklang Nongphlang and RS Wanniang.
