TURA, Dec 20: Once again at it, the BJP has trained its guns once again on the state government over the alleged lacunae in delivering benefits of central schemes to the people timely and diligently.
Party’s MDC from Tura, Bernard N Marak on Wednesday accused the state government of misleading beneficiaries that the Centre was delaying the release of PMAY funds when in reality the same was released a few months ago.
“The centre has released funds for PMAY urban a few months ago but the beneficiaries are yet to receive their due amounts in their account. We are aware of the amount being released by the Centre but the beneficiaries are misinformed that the Centre is delaying the fund,” Marak alleged on Wednesday.
According to Marak, PMAY (Urban) is at a crucial stage as many beneficiaries have started the construction of their houses through borrowed money unlike in rural areas when money is credited first. He added that the beneficiaries who started the work on borrowed money are now under immense pressure to repay the amounts with interest for use by the community during the festive season.
“In some cases, some beneficiaries were made to stand with the logo in front of their own constructed houses and after that no contact was made to them on the status of the payments. It is requested that the money be released at the earliest to the PMAY beneficiaries so that they get the benefit,” the Tura MDC demanded.
