NFR opens executive lounge at Guwahati railway station

Guwahati, Dec 22: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched a state-of-the-art executive lounge at Guwahati railway station to serve as a spacious, and comfortable waiting area for incoming as well as outgoing passengers.

Inaugurated by NFR general manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava in the presence of other senior officials recently, the executive lounge, located on the ground floor of the station’s platform number one, has a seating capacity of 92 persons at a time.

Besides, the modern lounge is fully air-conditioned with facilities such as sofa sets, LED television with musical system, travel desk, free Wi-Fi, mini-cloak room, beverage-cum-snacks stalls and more.

NFR has developed such executive lounges at various railway stations throughout the zone to allow national and domestic travellers to spend their waiting time comfortably.

“The executive lounge at Guwahati Railway Station provides numerous facilities to travellers, including business class passengers. Passengers can have an airport-like lounge experience at a minimal charge of Rs 30 per hour and an additional Rs 20 for each exceeding hour. Travellers can also get a paid bath and change facility, breakfast, lunch and dinner here,” an NFR official said on Friday.

“With these newly added facilities, Guwahati railway station, which has been serving as the connectivity hub for the Northeast region. has added another feather in its cap of providing world class facilities to passengers,” the official said.
