SHILLONG, Dec 21: The MeECL is confident about a power cut free festive season as the state’s is producing sufficient power and also managing the extra requirement from other power distribution companies.
MeECL Chairman cum Managing Director, Sanjay Goyal on Thursday exuded confidence that people will not face any power disruptions during the festive season.
Goyal said they are anticipating the average daily requirement of power to touch around 400 MW during peak hours and around 300 MW at other times.
“MeECL is making necessary arrangements for the additional power requirement. We have forwarded the agreement of taking energy from other sources as well as from our own generation. The Umiam reservoir level is quite comfortable, so I don’t think there will be any power shortage this season,” he said.
