DoNER minister takes stock of ongoing projects in state

SHILLONG, Dec 22: The Union Ministry of DoNER took stock of the ongoing development projects in Meghalaya. The discussions took place via video conferencing.
Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma held discussions with DoNER Minister G Kishan Reddy on the ongoing projects in the state funded by the Ministry.
“We are grateful to the Ministry and to GoI for their continued support to ensure accelerated progress of Meghalaya and other North East States,” he posted later on X.
As per the DoNER Ministry website, several projects are currently under various stages of progress in the state.
Prominent among them are bulk water supply to adjoining rural villages of Tura, improvement including widening of Agia- Medhipara- Phulbari- Tura Road at an estimated cost of Rs 66.54 crore, construction of Shillong-Umroi Airport road at a cost of Rs 50 crore, procurement of advance life support ambulances with equipment at an estimated cost of Rs 3.65 crore, Greater Baghmara Water Supply Scheme, setting up of a corona care centre for management of Covid-19 in Meghalaya, construction of 23 anganwadi buildings in Meghalaya, augmentation of the 132/33 KV Mawlai substation along with re-engineering of the 132 KV bus bar in Meghalaya, and a state of the art diagnostic centre at Pasteur Institute, among others.
