Mid-day meal cooks receive honorarium

SHILLONG, Dec 23: The state government has released the improved honorarium of Rs 2000 to the Union of Cook cum Helpers PM POSHAN in Meghalaya.
The government had decided to enhance the state’s share of honorarium which was Rs 100 per month to Rs 1100. The cooks cum helpers will now receive an honorarium of Rs 2000 out of which Rs 900 is borne by the centre.
The union lauded the effort put in by the Director of Education & School Literacy, Swapnil Tambe in bringing the demand to a fruitful result.
They also thanked Chief Minister Conrad Sangma while also hoping that in the future the state government will pay them regularly.
They also urged the state government to provide LPG cylinders to every school under PM Poshan where the workers usually have to use firewood.
