Conrad gets his ‘blues’ break

NEW DELHI, Dec 29: Impressed by the excellent performance on guitar by Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, industrialist Anand Mahindra has invited him to perform at the Mahindra Blues Festival in February.
The annual Mahindra Blues Festival is a celebration which has etched its name into the soul of Mumbai at the iconic Mehboob Studios, Bandra. This event has become a timeless tradition that keeps blues lovers coming back for more.
The Meghalaya Chief Minister impressed everyone with his guitar prowess and also recently there was a video on social media, of him effortlessly playing the iconic instrument solo of British heavy metal band Iron Maiden’s “Wasted Years”. “Another rocking night … Iron Maiden this time…” Sangma captioned his Instagram post which collected over 1.8 lakh views in just two days.
A video of Meghalaya’s Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma performing at a café has been gaining popularity on social media. Shared on Instagram, the video shows him playing an electric guitar alongside a band.
As he performs on stage, the audience can be heard cheering for him. Some are even seen recording his performance on their smartphones.
The video was shared a day ago on Instagram. Since then, it has been viewed over 1.8 lakh times. The video has also collected over 15,000 likes and many even dropped comments on the video.
“Uber cool… we need you out here at the @mahindrablues in February,” Anand Mahindra wrote on X (formerly Twitter) after watching the video.
Conrad also met Union Minister for Agriculture and Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda before leaving for Shillong late Friday.
