Workshop for science teachers

SHILLONG, Dec 30: The State Council of Science, Technology & Environment (SCSTE), Meghalaya under its Popularization of Science Programme (PSP) organised a 4-day “Workshop on Innovative Experiments in Physics and Chemistry” in Shillong, Jowai and Tura from December 19 to 22, a statement issued here informed.
The workshop was attended by 200 upper primary science teachers along with the mathematics ambassadors of the state.
The objective of the workshop is to equip the teachers with different interesting teaching modules to make concepts, principles and theories in physics and chemistry simple and easy to understand.
Certificates and physics kits designed by Vigyan Prasar, an autonomous body falling under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of India were presented to all the participants of the programme.
Similarly, the SCSTE, Meghalaya in collaboration with the Mathematics and Statistics Department of Shillong College organized the National Mathematics Day Celebration 2023 cum Orientation programme of Maths Ambassadors of the Crash Tuitions programme for SSLC candidates 2023 at Shillong College Auditorium, recently.
The event was celebrated to mark the 136th birth anniversary of Srinivasa Ramanujan Aiyangar and was organized as part of the diamond jubilee celebration of teaching Science in Shillong College. The programme was attended by the Maths Ambassadors of the state who will be aiding the Council in disseminating the crash tuitions to the SSLC candidates at 100 crash tuition centres spread across the state. These include 64 centres in Khasi, Jaintia region and 36 centres in Garo Hills region.
