One killed in road accident

Tura, Jan 2: One person identified as Grandstone R Marak died on the spot when the two-wheeler he was riding on collided with an Alto vehicle while overtaking a cement-laden truck in the wee hours of today at Babupara- DC Park.

The deceased who was riding a motorbike bearing registration No. ML08F 4659, hails from  Dombagre, Millim, South West Garo Hills.

Police informed that the rider along with pillion Kiang Ch Momin of Kherapra was proceeding towards Tura Bazar from Jangga area, but on reaching at the spot due to excessive speed while overtaking one cement loaded Truck (No. NL 01 AC 5914) driven by Pasal Ali, the biker dashed against one Alto (No. AS 02 L 8693) which was coming from opposite direction.

The bike rider lost control of his bike in the impact, fell down and went inside the truck and was run over by the rear wheel of the truck.
