Regional conference on e-governance in Guwahati from Tuesday

Guwahati, Jan 8: The Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) is organising a two-day regional conference on e-governance here from Tuesday.

The conference will focus on e-governance and showcase all award-winning nominations across India under the National e-Governance Awards Scheme, 2023.

“The main objective of the conference is to bring national and state level public administration organisations on the same platform to share experiences of innovations in public administration, transforming future public solutions for improving quality of life, good governance, e-governance, digital governance, etc,” an official statement said.

Assam Governor Gulab Chand Kataria will inaugurate the regional conference while Union minister of state Jitendra Singh will address the inaugural session.

Assam chief secretary Paban Kumar Borthakur and V. Srinivas, secretary, DARPG, will also address the inaugural session.

During the session, a booklet on the journey of 25 regional conferences and e-journal MGMG (July – December, 2023 edition) on e-governance initiatives will be released. A film on e-governance awarded initiatives 2023 will also be screened during the event.

Notably, the conference will have seven sessions on topics such as “Unified Service Delivery Portal;” “e-Governance Awarded Initiatives 2022”; “Best Practices of Government of Assam” and “District level initiatives in e-Governance” among others.

During the event, representatives for the award-winning initiatives and best practices will provide a brief picture of their initiatives and brief account of transformational changes brought under select government schemes.
