Nongpoh, Jan 10: A MePTCL staff was found hanging from a door of his quarter at Bara Killing in Ri-Bhoi on Tuesday morning, police informed here on Wednesday.
Paimon Khongkrom, an employee of MePTCL and husband to Keldaris Mawlong died by suicide by hanging himself from the door of his quarter using a Khasi carry bag (Pla-iew), and his lifeless body was discovered by his family members.
An inquest was conducted in the presence of witnesses, ensuring a thorough examination under sufficient lighting conditions, police said.
Exemption of post-mortem was granted as family members cited the deceased’s unstable mental condition. The body was handed over to the family members.
