SHILLONG, Jan 17: Appalled by the prolonged delay of more than 7 years since the issuing the advertisement to the post in question, the HYC has asked the state government to expeditiously declare the list of candidates who have secured the post of typist (ordinary grade) in the office of the Heads of Department. The recruitment process was held in April, 2016.
In a memorandum to the chairman of the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC), the HYC threatened to agitate if the authorities fail to complete the recruitment process at the earliest.
The HYC further said that more than seven years have passed since the advertisement was issued and about three years since the date of the screening test. Following that, after almost two years since the typing speed test was conducted and almost a year since the last notice was issued by the Commission, the recruitment results are yet to be declared.
“This act of delay in declaration of results by the Commission raises serious doubts about the transparency in the whole process of recruitment. It has affected the applicants both mentally and economically. Prolonged delay will also lead to major problem of over-ageing of majority of these applicants in the future,” HYC president, Roy Kupar Synrem said.
