Shillong, Jan 15: The Shillong Cricket League 3rd Division 2024 witnessed two gripping matches on Monday. In the first match, Super Challengers faced off against Soliditary CC.
Put in to bat first, Super Challengers managed to put up a competitive 133/10 in 19.1 overs. Pratap Chanda and Karan Dhirasarya were the top performers for Super Challengers with the bat scoring 31 (in 40 balls) and 26 (in 14 balls) respectively. Raju Chettri was the pick of the bowlers with his spell of 3/22 in 4 overs. Raja Chettri also made a significant impact, bowling 3.1 overs, giving away 9 runs, and securing 2 crucial wickets.
Soliditary CC, in reply, scored 136/6 in 18.2 overs. Sameer Choudhary top scored with scoring 33 runs in 32 balls, while Sunny Chanda contributed 32 runs in 20 balls.
Karan Dhirasarya and Dilbar led the bowling attack forSuper Challengers, with Karan dhirasarya delivering a commendable performance, bowling 4 overs, conceding 32 runs, and claiming 3 wickets, while Dilbar bowled 4 overs, giving away 33 runs and taking 2 wickets.
Soliditary CC emerged victorious by 4 wickets, with Raju Chettri named the Player of the Match.
In the second match, Mawjam took on Combine XI in a contest that proved one sided.
Mawjam elected to bat after and posted a massive total of 176/8 wickets in 20 overs.
Pargat Singh shone with the bat, scoring an explosive 56 runs in 31 balls, while Rohit Singh added 47 runs in 30 balls. The bowling efforts of Kitkupar l Nonglait and Nangsanbor Shabong for Combine XI were noteworthy, with Kitkupar l Nonglait bowling 4 overs, giving away 32 runs, and taking 2 wickets, and Nangsanbor Shabong bowling 4 overs, conceding 26 runs while securing 1 wicket.
In response, Combine XI failed to chase down the target, scoring 93/10 wickets in 15.4 overs. Adrian Nongrum played a pivotal role with the bat, scoring 20 runs in 18 balls, and Shining Star Chyne contributed 19 runs in 12 balls.
Pargat Singh and Hamid Sohtun were instrumental in the bowling department for Mawjam, with Pargat Singh delivering 3 overs, giving away 10 runs and taking 2 wickets, and Hamid Sohtun bowling 4 overs, conceding 29 runs while claiming 3 wicket.
Mawjam won the contest by 83 runs, and Pargat Singh was named the Player of the Match.
