SHILLONG, Jan 27: Former MLA PT Sawkmie felt that the Congress should immediately withdraw its support to the NPP-led executive committee in the district council after MPCC Chief Vincent Pala recently hurled several allegations against the NPP-led MDA government.
He also slammed the Congress for bringing the issue of religion to get votes.
Alleging that the MPCC chief failed to convince other MPs to demand ILP and inclusion of the Khasi and Garo languages in the eighth schedule, Sawkmie, referring to AICC leader Rahul Gandhi calling himself a soldier of the people of Meghalaya, told Pala to ask his soldier to raise the issue of ILP and the inclusion of the two languages in the Parliament.
