Darang Badri U-12 football league begins in SGH

Baghmara, Jan 30: Initiating a quest to nurture emerging football talents within the state, the Darang Badri Sports Association, in collaboration with the district administration and the District Sports Officer of South Garo Hills (SGH), kickstarted the inaugural Under 12 tournament this afternoon at the MeECL Nongalbibra playground.
The tournament unfolds with eight teams vying for supremacy, divided into two pools of four teams each. The top two contenders from each pool will advance to compete for the coveted trophy.Organizers have outlined a schedule featuring two matches per day, with the final tentatively slated for Feb 9. The opening ceremony witnessed the CEM of the GHADC, Albinush Marak, inaugurating the event.
The former MLA of Rongara-Siju, Rophul Marak, who is also sponsoring the tournament, graced the occasion.A total of two matches are scheduled daily, with one taking place in the afternoon and another under the evening lights. The tournament’s inaugural match featured a spirited clash between Combine FC and Era Aning Nissan FC, setting the stage for an exciting series of contests.As Baghmara resonates with the cheers and excitement of the budding football talents, the inaugural Under 12 tournament promises to be a stepping stone for the future stars of the sport. With the support of local authorities, sponsors, and the community, this initiative not only fosters a spirit of healthy competition but also provides a platform for young athletes to showcase their skills.
