Shillong, Jan 30: In a gripping clash between Super Challenger and Sanmer in the Shillong Cricket League 3rd Division, the toss was claimed by Super Challenger, who opted to field.
The 1st innings witnessed Sanmer posting a competitive score of 174/7 in 20 overs.
Eugene Shanpru led the batting charge with an impressive 42 runs off 29 balls, followed by John Dkhar’s contribution of 39 runs off 24 balls. Dilbar showcased exceptional bowling prowess for Super Challenger, bowling 4 overs for 20 runs and claiming 3 crucial wickets. Rahul Sharma provided valuable support with figures of 4 overs for 15 runs, securing 2 wickets.
In response, Super Challenger faced a challenging run chase, managing to score 111/10 in 13.5 overs. Pratap Chanda and Kyrmen Skhem Nongrum contributed with 33 and 29 runs, respectively. However, Hubert Shanpru and Bor Marbaniang from Sanmer stole the show with their bowling performances. Hubert bowled 2.5 overs, conceding 14 runs and taking an impressive 4 wickets, while Bor Marbaniang bowled 3 overs for 35 runs and claimed 3 wickets.
Bor Marbaniang’s all-around performance earned him the well-deserved Player of the Match title. Sanmer emerged victorious by a convincing margin of 63 runs.
In another exciting encounter, Metallica Rising Star faced Soliditary, with the latter winning the toss and choosing to field.
Metallica set a target of 159/7 in 20 overs, with Nabindu Das leading the batting charts with 45 runs off 25 balls, complemented by Prasanjit Sarkar’s 27 runs off 14 balls.
Raja Chettri showcased his bowling prowess for Soliditary, bowling 4 overs for 51 runs and securing 4 wickets, while Raju Chettri contributed with figures of 4 overs for 20 runs and 1 wicket.
Soliditary faced a tough challenge in their reply, managing to score 135/9 in 20 overs. Sammer Choudhary and Raja Chettri top-scored with 32 and 22 runs, respectively.
Vishal Das bowled impressively for Metallica, delivering 4 overs for 22 runs and taking 3 wickets, while Gurjitsingh contributed with figures of 4 overs for 13 runs and 2 wickets.
Nabindu Das, with his all-around performance, was named the Man of the Match, having scored 45 runs and taken 2 wickets.
Metallica secured victory by 24 runs in this thrilling encounter.
