SHILLONG, Jan 30: The state government on Tuesday requested two weeks from the Meghalaya High Court to finish the process of amending and revising the August 25, 2023, notification on the Meghalaya Waterbodies (Preservation and Conservation) Guidelines, 2023.
Additional Advocate-General, K Khan stated that although the notification has been updated and corrected since then, final approval is still pending. He prayed for an additional two weeks to give the state government enough time to finish the exercise.
In consideration of the prayer, the court granted two weeks for the notification to be published.
“It is expected that on the next date, no further time is sought for,” the court said in its order.
