Tributes to martyrs at Raj Bhavan in city

SHILLONG, Jan 30: On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day, a solemn ceremony was held at Raj Bhavan here on Tuesday.
All the officers and staff paid floral tribute to the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, while recalling his unwavering dedication and sacrifices.
In his message, Governor Phagu Chauhan paid homage to the Father of the Nation, recalling his legacy and honouring the other brave individuals who laid down their lives for the nation’s independence.
The event, presided over by the Commissioner and Secretary to the Governor, Dr BDR Tiwari, included him laying a wreath at the portrait of Mahatma Gandhi, followed by a brief moment of silence.
