Shillong, Feb 1: In a jubilant celebration of their triumph at the Khelo India Youth Games 2023, the Meghalaya State Football Team (U18-Boys) was honored with an open Truck Road Show by the Department of Sports and Youth Affairs on Thursday.
The team secured a remarkable 2-0 victory over Punjab in the highly anticipated finals held in Chennai.The festive road show commenced from Banalari World Cars and traversed through significant locations, including Mawlai Petrol Pump, Jaiaw Mawbynna, Mawlai Iew Rynghep, Jaiaw Pdeng Main Road, Seng Khasi College, Mawkhar Main Road, DC Office, Raj Bhawan, Motphran, Police Bazar, IGP, Additional Secretariat, Main Secretariat, DC Office, Wards Lake, Polo Market, and concluded at the MFA Football Ground.
At the MFA Football Ground, a special felicitation program was organized to honor the triumphant team.
The event witnessed the presence of notable dignitaries, including Director of Sports and Youth Affairs, Isawanda Laloo, MFA president, Hamlet Dohling, MSOA working president, John Kharshiing, and MSOA general secretary, Finely Pariat, among others.
The gathering celebrated the team’s achievement and acknowledged their stellar performance in bringing glory to Meghalaya on the national sports stage.
