MBMA gets green award

SHILLONG, Feb 3: The Meghalaya Basin Management Agency was conferred with the Earth Care Award in the Community-Based Climate Action category at the 11th Earth Care Awards, for its works under the Community Led Landscape Management Project (CLLMP).
CLLMP is a World Bank-funded project that has been working to empower and facilitate communities in addressing their NRM challenges by formulating and implementing their own holistic NRM plans.
Started in 2008, the Earth Care Awards, a joint initiative of JSW and The Times of India group have been conferred to recognise and champion efforts towards climate mitigation and adaptation.
The Award was received by CLLMP representatives led by Project Director of CLLMP, Sampath Kumar, and Additional Project Director, Gunanka DB.
