SHILLONG, Feb 7: The overlaying work of the Umiam-Shillong Road has been affected due to the ongoing repair of the Umiam dam.
The overlaying work of the 17-km road leading up to the Umiam-Jorabat Expressway is being looked after by NHIDCL.
An NHIDCL official on Wednesday said they were unable to transport machineries and materials for the overlaying work since traffic movement through the Umiam dam has been affected.
“We intend to finish the work before the rainy season arrives provide they allow us to move,” the official added.
