Occult, Clusters register wins in Shillong League 2nd Division

Shillong, Dec 8: In a thrilling showdown between The Occult and Jersey Kings CC, the toss was won by Jersey Kings CC, who elected to bat first. With a solid performance, Jersey Kings managed to score 131 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 18.5 overs.
Sunil Gurung led the batting charge with an impressive 42 runs off 42 balls, closely followed by Gopal Sunar, who contributed 23 runs off 10 balls. The bowling attack from The Occult was spearheaded by Rohit Lumbo, who bowled 4 overs, conceding 21 runs, and took an impressive 4 wickets. Marty Mustafa also made a significant impact, claiming 2 wickets while conceding 20 runs in 3.5 overs.
In response, The Occult displayed exceptional batting prowess, achieving the target with ease, scoring 132 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in just 15.1 overs. Marken B Kharkongor played a stellar innings, scoring 63 runs off 48 balls, while Pawan Rana contributed 19 runs off 20 balls. Sanjeev Rai led the bowling attack for Jersey Kings CC, taking 1 wicket while conceding 23 runs in 4 overs.The Occult clinched victory by 8 wickets, with Rohit Lumbo emerging as the Player of the Match for his outstanding bowling performance.
In another captivating encounter between New Warriors CC and Clusters CC, Clusters CC won the toss and elected to bat first. They managed to score 97 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 18.3 overs, with Roshan Sharma top-scoring with 27 runs off 26 balls, and Samir Deb contributing 16 runs off 21 balls. In reply, New Warriors CC fell short of the target, scoring 70 runs for the loss of 10 wickets in 14.2 overs. Vinay Marbaniang emerged as the top scorer with 29 runs off 17 balls, Clusters CC secured victory by 27 runs.
