NONGPOH, Feb 20: In a heartbreaking incident, a ten-year-old boy from Umtangar village in Ri-Bhoi was allegedly murdered on Saturday.
Reliable sources said that the victim, a student of Class II at Umlur LP School, went out with friends on Saturday but did not return home. His father, Synshar Nonghyndah, reported that the body was discovered on Sunday in a neighbouring forest, with visible facial injuries.
The body was taken to Nongpoh Civil Hospital for post-mortem after which it was handed over to his grieving parents.
A case has been registered at Patharkhmah PS.
