NONGPOH, Feb 25: A petrol bomb was hurled at a residential area in Umsning Patarim, Ri-Bhoi, in the wee hours of Sunday, which exploded and an auto-rickshaw sustained minor damage in the incident.
The parking area was located at one Lovercuf Nongshli’s residence, and two unidentified persons were reportedly involved in the act.
According to police sources, the incident occurred around 1:20 am while the owner was asleep.
Upon inquiry, it was revealed that the petrol bomb exploded, fortunately resulting in no casualties to human life. However, there was minor damage to an auto-rickshaw (ML 10A 4205), which was parked in the compound of the residential area.
Despite a thorough examination of CCTV footage, the individuals responsible for the act could not be identified. Authorities are actively conducting an investigation to apprehend the culprits involved in this criminal act.
