Curtains come down on city college week

SHILLONG, March 3: Felicitation, awards, and various activities were the highlights of the grand finale of the two weeks recreation programme of Sankardev College here on Saturday.
The two-week-long event was actively participated by the students showcasing their talents in different categories including sports, literary, alumni, and other extra-curricular activities.
During the event, the college felicitated NCC cadets and NSS volunteers with citations of appreciation for their social extension activities.
Certificates were also awarded to students who completed the certificate courses of the college on learning German and on the manufacture and marketing of Indigenous Food Products.
Medals and certificates were also awarded to the winners of the various events held during the college week.
Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Shakliar Warjri who was the chief guest on the last day, urged the students to imbibe the values of hard work and to adopt a positive mindset to face the challenges in life.
Other highlights of the programme included a musical performance by P Syiemiong and A Rumnong, faculty of the college.
The skit which won the first prize in the inter-college skit competition organised by the RBI as part of the financial literacy week was also performed.
