SHILLONG, March 3: The Opposition UDP in the KHADC on Sunday said the council may not be able to pass the full budget during the upcoming budget session from March 19 in view of the Lok Sabha polls.
KHADC Leader of Opposition, Titosstarwell Chyne said the Election Commission is due to announce the Lok Sabha election schedule shortly.
He said he was unsure if the council would be able to pass the full budget once the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) is enforced.
“We will probably have to pass only the vote on account for three months,” Chyne said.
He stated that opposition MDCs will meet on Monday to discuss the issues to be raised in the upcoming session.
