SHILLONG, March 4: Continuing its legacy of promoting community welfare and health, IIM Shillong organised a voluntary donation camp as part of its Sustainability Week initiatives, which witnessed zealous participation from the institute.
Under the theme ‘One donation saves three lives,’ the event aimed to raise awareness about the critical need for blood donation and encouraged individuals to contribute towards this noble cause.
This year’s camp witnessed an overwhelming response, with 81 donors from the IIM Shillong fraternity stepping up to donate blood in a single day.
The enthusiasm and dedication displayed by the participants underscored the deep commitment of the institute’s community towards making a positive impact on society.
Last year’s efforts received recognition and support from the state’s Health department, further highlighting the significance of community welfare and health promotion initiatives.
Director of IIM Shillong Prof DP Goyal inaugurated the camp.
In his address, he mentioned that the initiative not only saves lives but also demonstrates a shared commitment to fostering community welfare and health promotion.
The blood donation camps were organised by the EcoBiz Club of IIM Shillong with the continued support of HDFC Bank, Pasteur Institute, Regional Blood Bank, as well as the unwavering dedication of the donors.
