Shillong, March 20: In a tragic incident in Badaun, Uttar Pradesh, a barber reportedly killed two children from the neighborhood and injured another severely. The barber was killed in a subsequent encounter with the police during the night. Initially sparking outrage, the situation has since been brought under control.

As per News18 The accused, identified as Sajid, operated a barbershop opposite the victims’ residence in Badaun’s Baba Colony. Allegedly familiar with their father, Vinod, Sajid entered the victims’ home around 7:30 pm on Tuesday under the pretext of requesting tea.

Upon the mother’s departure to prepare tea, Sajid ascended to the terrace where Vinod’s three children, Aayush (13), Ahaan (7), and Piyush (6), were playing. Using a sharp weapon, he attacked the boys, fatally slashing the throats of Aayush and Ahaan, while the younger sibling, Piyush, managed to escape with minor injuries.

Sources suggest ongoing disputes between the accused and Vinod’s family. The incident occurred while Vinod Kumar’s wife, who operates a parlor, was alone at home with their children.

Upon notification, the police arrived at the scene, but faced resistance from enraged locals, preventing the immediate retrieval of the children’s bodies. The angry mob also set fire to the accused’s shop. Subsequently, heavy police presence was deployed, and the children’s bodies were taken for post-mortem examination.
