Debut screening of Hills on a Plate, Northeast’s first TV series

SHILLONG, March 20: The region’s first TV series, ‘Hills on a Plate,’ made its debut screening on Wednesday ahead of English singer songwriter Calum Scott’s performance in Lariti International Centre for Performing Arts, Mawkasiang.
The audience was treated to an exclusive sneak peek into the first episode, leaving them eager for more.
The seven-episode series, which airs on JioCinema, features Sarah Todd of MasterChef Australia, Ardahun Passah, and William Diengdoh as the judges. It is hosted by Gordon Thabah and Abigail Pamei.
The series introduces viewers to talented contestants Artet Kharsati, Ivan Suting, Daei Suchiang, Nambie Marak, Tanisha Phanbuh, Uttam Thangkhiew, and Adonijah Lyngdoh.
The show aims to balance showcasing the culinary richness of the state with highlighting the region’s natural beauty.
Vijay Kumar D, also present at the screening, expressed his optimism and congratulated all the participants.
He remarked, “We have always endeavored to showcase the richness of our food through the tourism department, and it is time the nation became aware of it.”
He also mentioned that this series is poised to make all the participants celebrities, and this could potentially become their career. The screening was attended by the entire cast and crew of the show, which is an initiative of the Rockski EMG.
