Meghalaya Cong to refrain from personal attacks during electioneering

Shillong, Mar 21: Meghalaya Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) has decided to refrain from indulging into personal attacks on candidates fighting the Lok Sabha elections in the State even as the party is fighting the elections with a lot of restrain in terms of resources.

Informing this after the meeting with the congress district and block level committees, State Congress Chief and Shillong MP Vincent Pala said that the workers have been asked to refrain from making any personal attacks on the candidates as that is not the political culture of the party.

He said during the meeting strategise were discussed, policies and commitments to be highlighted to the public have been conveyed to the party workers and also the logistic requirements.

Pointing out that the BJP at the centre has frozen eleven bank accounts of the Congress having around 215 crore rupees, he said the party is fighting this election with a lot of restrain in terms of resources and the BJP is doing this because they know that the Congress is the only party who will be able to fight against them.
