SHILLONG, March 23: The Department of Posts, Meghalaya Postal Division, organized a ‘Dak Community Development Program (DCDP) Mela’ in Sohryngkham village on Friday to create extensive awareness on the Postal Life Insurance products (PLI and RPLI) and Post Office Savings Schemes amongst the people living in rural areas of the state and to sensitise them on the need for insurance and savings in their well-being.
The Mela was focused to spread the message that Meghalaya has around 940 Post Offices, of which 532 are available in the rural and remotest localities of Khasi and Jaintia Hills, and the Divisional Postal Administration made an earnest appeal to the people to utilise the services of the post offices for availing door-step services.
