NEIGRIHMS radiologist bags fellowship at London college

SHILLONG, March 30: A Senior Resident at the Department of Radiodiagnosis, North Eastern Indira Gandhi Regional Institute of Health & Medical Science (NEIGRIHMS), Dr. Humsheer Singh Sethi, has been awarded a prestigious fellowship by the Royal College of Radiology in London.
According to a statement, Dr. Sethi is among a select few radiologists internationally to receive this fellowship.
“The Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) examinations are recognized as one of the top-three most challenging fellowship exams globally and are typically awarded to radiologists practicing in the United Kingdom. The FRCR signifies the highest level of expertise in diagnostic radiology,” the statement said.
It has been informed that Dr. Sethi had undergone a rigorous and demanding training programme for two years, adhering to the Royal College’s stringent standards.
“Demonstrating exceptional dedication, Dr. Sethi has chosen to forgo opportunities to work in the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK and is committed to serving the people of Meghalaya at NEIGRIHMS,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, reacting to Dr. Sethi’s achievement, NEIGRIHMS Director Prof. Nalin Mehta, said, “Being among the select few radiologists internationally to receive the FRCR, Dr. Sethi’s accomplishment brings pride not only to NEIGRIHMS but also to the entire medical community in Meghalaya. I commend Dr. Sethi for his dedication and commendable decision to serve the people of Meghalaya, foregoing opportunities abroad. His expertise will undoubtedly contribute significantly to the advancement of radiology services in our region.”
On the other hand, Medical Superintendent and HoD, Radiodiagnosis, NEIGRIHMS, Prof. C. Daniala expressed hope that Dr. Sethi’s expertise will go on to enhance the quality of healthcare services at NEIGRIHMS.
“This accomplishment reflects not only Dr. Sethi’s personal commitment to excellence but also the high standards of training and education provided at NEIGRIHMS. I congratulate Dr. Sethi on this outstanding recognition and am confident that his expertise will further enhance the quality of healthcare services offered at our institution,” Prof. Daniala said.
