Pomshutia, Laitjem win in EKHDCA T20

Shillong, April 1: Laitjem CC and Pomshutia CC emerged victorious in the ongoing East Khasi Hills Cricket Association 3rd District League T20 Cricket Tournament 2024 on Monday.
In the first match, Nongdawah CC elected to bat first against Laitjem CC and scored 116/10 in 18.2 overs. Moonlight War top scored with 29 (22b) for Nongdawah, while Pynbhalang Kharsati claimed an impressive 4/10 (in 3.5 overs) for Laitjem. In reply, Laitjem overhauled the target in 15.1 overs, scoring 120/5. Marken B Kharkongor top scored for Laitjem with 26 (23b), while Maialang War took 2/45 in 4 overs for Nongdawah. Laitjem CC won the contest by 5 wickets ,while Pynbhalang Kharsati named the Player of the Match.
In the second match of the day, Pomshutia CC beat Smit CC by a narrow 3-run margin. Electing to bat first, Pomshutia put up a total of 143/6 in 20 overs with Aristerwell Suting top scoring (44 runs in 43 balls). Raymond Thabah was the pick of the bowler for Smit, ending the match with figures of 3/23 in 4 overs. In response, Smit scored 140/8 in 20 overs, falling short by 3 runs. Miningstar Mylliemngap was the best batter for Smit, scoring 39 (34b), while Skhembor Khongbtep ended as the best bowler for Pomshutia with figures of 2/19 in 4 overs. Aristerwell Suting was adjudged the Player of the Match.
