Meghalaya’s roll ball teams get award for exemplary fair play

Shillong, April 7: In a testament to sportsmanship and integrity, Meghalaya’s roll ball teams boys and girls have been honoured with the prestigious Best Fair Play of the Tournament award.
Despite a quarter-final loss to Chattisgarh in the Boys Category of the 1st East Zone Junior National Championship, held on April 6th and 7th, 2024, the Meghalaya team’s conduct on and off the court earned them recognition for their fair play.
The accolade comes as the Meghalaya Roll Ball Association and the Roll Ball Federation of India gear up to host the upcoming Roll Ball Federation Cup on May 4 and 5, 2024.
The tournament will take place at St. Anthony’s Higher Secondary School in Shillong, promising two days of intense competition and camaraderie.
Eight state teams will be vying for supremacy in both the Boys and Girls categories, with Meghalaya proudly representing the host state:
Boys Team:Uttar Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Jammu & Kashmir, Kerala, RSSA, Meghalaya (Host Team). Girls Team: Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhatisghar, Tamil Nadu, Meghalaya (Host Team)
With teams from across the country converging in Shillong for the Roll Ball Federation Cup, anticipation is high for a showcase of skill, sportsmanship, and the spirit of competition.
Meghalaya’s Roll Ball enthusiasts are poised to demonstrate their prowess on the court while upholding the principles of fair play and mutual respect that define the sport.
