Arup Buragohain set to shine at All England badminton c’ship

GUWAHATI, April 9: Arup Buragohain, the seasoned Badminton player from Assam, is set to grace the courts of the 106th All England Senior (Masters) Badminton Championship 2024, slated to take place at Hertfordshire Sports Village in London from April 12 to 14, 2024.
Buragohain will be competing in the Men’s Doubles 50+ category, accompanied by his doubles partner Unnikrishnan Verma from Gujarat.
The duo previously clinched a bronze medal in December last year at the senior Asia Badminton championship held in Vietnam, showcasing their prowess on the international stage.
Hailing from North Lakhimpur, Assam, Arup Buragohain currently serves as a senior officer at the AG office in Arunachal Pradesh.
He comes from a family deeply rooted in the sport, being the youngest son of the late Karneswar and Kanmai Buragohain, and the younger brother of NIS coach Rup Kumar Buragohain. His journey in badminton reflects both his personal dedication to the sport and his family’s rich sporting heritage.
With his wealth of experience and skill on the court, Buragohain’s participation in the prestigious All England Senior Badminton Championship adds another chapter to his illustrious career.
His partnership with Verma promises to be formidable, as they aim to make their mark in the competitive doubles category. As they prepare to showcase their talent on the international stage once again, they carry the hopes and support of badminton enthusiasts from across the nation.
