Shillong, April 10: The Inter-School Sports Meet in Mawlai showcased a vibrant display of athletic talent as eight schools gathered to celebrate the silver jubilee of the Higher Secondary Section at Sacred Heart Girls’ Higher Secondary School. Held at the Savio Juniorate Ground in Mawlai, the event brought together students from various educational institutions to compete in a range of sporting events.
In an exhilarating showcase of skill and determination, Sacred Heart Girls’ emerged as the overall champions in the girls’ category, while Savio Juniorate claimed the title in the boys’ division. The competition saw fierce competition among the participants, with athletes vying for top honors in their respective events.
The accolade for the best male athlete was bestowed upon Wanbetphylla Pyngrope from Mawlai Christian School, whose exceptional performance stood out among his peers. Meanwhile, Wendy Sylliang from Sacred Heart Girls’ Higher Secondary School was recognized as the best female athlete for her outstanding achievements in the sporting arena.
Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the District School Education Officer (DSEO) of East Khasi Hills graced the event as the chief guest, underscoring the significance of promoting sports and physical education in the region.
