Cattle lifter thrashed in SWGH, dies

SHILLONG, April 15: An unidentified person died after being thrashed for attempting to steal cattle head from a cowshed belonging to one Kingston T Sangma in Wadagre village, South West Garo Hills, police said in a statement issued here on Monday.
The deceased was earlier was brought to Kalaichar PP by the villagers of Wadagre, while he was reportedly injured and in a partially conscious state.
The person was shifted to Kalaichar PHC for medical examination and was subsequently medically acquainted and treated at the health centre. However, during the treatment, the cattle lifter succumbed to his injuries, the Superintendent of Police of South West Garo Hills said.
The body is kept at the morgue of Civil Hospital Ampati for claim.
