SHILLONG, April 21: A scuffle reportedly broke out between two groups at Saw Aiom restaurant in Iewduh on Saturday night.
A source said that the scuffle took place after some residents of Harijan Colony who were allegedly in an inebriated condition quarreled with the owner of the restaurant at the time of payment of their bill.
The source said some Khasi youth who were present there tried to intervene and this led to a scuffle.
The situation worsened after some more residents of the locality appeared at the scene, the source said.
The situation was brought under control due to timely intervention of Cantonment Beat House personnel.
When contacted, a senior police official admitted that a scuffle had occurred between some drunken persons and the matter was sorted out.
