SHILLONG, April 23: The Voice of the People Party may be confident about its win in the Shillong Lok Sabha seat, but the Congress is yet to lose hope and insists that the party would easily retain the prestigious seat.
Congress MLA from Mawhati, Charles Marngar on Tuesday claimed that the party is in front as far as the contest for the Shillong parliamentary seat is concerned.
Marngar refused to name the closest rival of the Congress and said they had not completed their assessment of all the polling stations.
He said people have reposed their faith on incumbent MP, Vincent H Pala since the Congress is the only one that can take on the BJP in Delhi.
Marngar said they have been getting positive inputs that most of the silent votes have supported the Congress.
